  • Physical Education:  Each grade at Saint Elizabeth Seton Schoolreceives two classes each week for the entire school year. The early elementary grades (K-3) learn basic skills such as kicking balls, throwing, catching, and tumbling (gymnastics). They also concentrate on all of the different ways they can move (locomotive skills). These skills include walking, running, skipping, galloping, sliding, hopping, and jumping. The upper elementary grades (4-5) start to use the basic skills they have learned in fun and exciting games. Teamwork and cooperation are emphasized in these grades.   The junior high plays traditional team sports, individual sports, and lifetime activities. These include fitness, basketball, ultimate frisbee, floor hockey, football, badminton, volleyball, and other activities. Students are graded on their effort and conduct.  The sixth grade class does a unit on teamwork, cooperation, and communication. These team building activities teach students how to communicate in a positive way and to be a productive member of a team. The Junior High students will be given skill assessments as well as written assessments on specific skills inside of the unit that we are working on. The grades on the assessment will be part of their overall average in the class.
